Today is my sister's Birthday.
Yvonne Belcher, she has missing since December 2000. The pain has never gotten easier, and every birthday that passes makes it harder. Today is hard for me, especially having to be here at work, and looking around and just realising that the world still goes on, BUT it is so much tougher to go with someone you love just missing. Although we know she is not coming back, the part of not knowing what happened to her, or where she is at today makes today even harder. I just keep thinking, where? where else do I go? what else do I do?
The only part that makes me get through this month, is knowing that my family is hosting the Jacksonville stop on the Tour of Rememberance this year. This is in honor of my sister, and all other missing persons around the world. I just keep my thoughts on that, and it keeps me busy, it's after all this, that I'll be right back to normal life, life without knowing what happened to my wonderful sister.
Thanks for letting me share. Although I may not comment alot, please know that I'm reading all the daily mail that passes through, and each and everyone of you are in my prayers.

Yvonne Katharina Belcher Owens, 25, was last seen in Green Cove Springs, Florida on December 22, 2000. She and her husband, Jesse "Andy" Owens resided with his mother on Highland Avenue. The couple argued during the early morning hours and the police were

summoned to the house to end the dispute. Owens told authorities that he saw Belcher walk down Highland Avenue at approximately 2:30 a.m. The temperatures were at the freezing mark at the time.

One of Belcher's friends told investigators that he gave her a ride shortly after 2:30 a.m. Another friend reported seeing her walking along Vermont Street towards Florida Route 16 around daybreak. Belcher has never been heard from again.

Owens reported Belcher as a missing person two days after her initial disappearance. He stated that his wife had a history of leaving their home for several days after arguments. While authorities said that Owens and Belcher had a stormy relationship, Owens cooperated with the investigation into Belcher's disappearance and was not considered a suspect.

Authorities said that they believed foul play was involved in Belcher's disappearance. Extensive searches of the area produced no clues as to her whereabouts. Investigators received tips that Belcher may have relocated to the Daytona Beach, Florida or Fort Lauderdale, Florida areas to work as a dancer. The leads did not produce any evidence as to her whereabouts. Her family members said that it is uncharacteristic of Belcher to leave for an extended period of time without warning.

Belcher was born in the former West Germany and moved to the United States with her parents during her childhood. She was employed as a dancer and a server in a restaurant. Belcher's case remains unsolved.

THANK YOU so much, words can't express how much it means to me that you put this up. She is beautiful. I bought a bunch of baloons yesterday, wrote her note and watched them as they disappeared into the clouds. My 5 year old daughter asked me: "Mommy, are those going up to heaven for Aunt Yvonne?", and I said "Yes", she was so amazed. She said "Is she going to open your card and read it?" It was just amazing, my daughter never had the opportunity to know her aunt, but I try so hard to always talk about her, and to make sure that my daughter knows who her Aunt Yvonne is. It is soooooo hard, and throughout the year, there are easier times than others, BUT at times such as birthdays or Christmas, that's when it becomes just such a reality all over again.

Thanks again Sara, that was so beautiful to come into work today and see that you put this out here. I have to admit, I don't know how to do all that. I'm getting there though.
The funny thing about how it describes her disappearance, is so far off of what really went on.
Her husband put her in the hospital repeatedly. We tried to tell her to leave him, but she was in love. He was never considered a suspect, until NOW, but unfortunately he is deceased.
He was found dead the morning after detectives revisited the case, and wanted him to come in for questioning, about 4 years after she disappeared. They say accidental, I say suicide.

I have MANY women and children victims who have been wronged and want to now speak out together. Susan Milano can you help me and the the many victims get on the Oprah Winfrey show please...... One young DV victim has lost her child to the criminal abuser and the DA's office knows the truth. Another just this week went to get a PFA and was shot in the foot and was told she could not get one.

I just spoke with Todd Matthews regarding NamUs.gov's most in need of volunteer efforts.

He shared that what is most vitally needed at the moment is additional LE involvement in NamUs, anyone could help immensely by contacting LE departments in order to encourage and share NamUs.gov info. with them.

Another area of ongoing need is direct involvement from the Loved Ones of the Missing.
