This is a Message for Loved ones of the Missing: ONE MAJOR rule of thumb is to NEVER involve yourself, or your case with anyone with an AGENDA!!! If they are looking for money, notoriety, or any type of reward, they are dangerous! It is too risky to allow someone who is so self serving to be involved in a case as sensitive as this.

 

They will not handle things in your best interest or concidering the integrity of your case! They are selfish people who are desperately looking for an opportunity to take advantage of you in this time of panic and pain! They will come accross compassionate and like they know what you are going through, but that is all rehearsed! WATCH FOR THE RED FLAGS! They ask for money, they talk about the expenses, they ask you to contact the media, they prepare press releases, they give your contact information to other people just like them so they can prey on you too!!

 

Do your homework before rusting someone with your case! Have they ever found anyone before? They may say so, but they cannot make false claims in real news stories, so check the sources, like local newspapers, etc. What kind of resources do they have? What is the operating principles and procedures that they follow? Do NOT be afraid to ask very specific questions about what thier intentions are, and why they are helping people, (you). 

 

I KNOW! I HAVE BEEN SEARCHING for my sister and her little girl for nearly TEN years and I have watched this EXPLODE as an industry filled with opportunities to take advantage of people who are suffering and are desperate to find answers! They cannot help you, they are not in this for YOU, THEY ARE IN IT for themselves! PLEASE be aware and protect yourselves!!

 

Currently, there is a BULK email going out to Families of missing loved ones from an organization called PROJECT ANGEL EYES...It appears to be a marketing scam for a large group of psychics! DO NOT FALL FOR THIS! They will tell you heart wrenching things, get you on the edge of your seat, then ask you for money to help you find your loved one!

 

There are a few wonderful people, advocates and true angels on earth who will help guide you in the right directiuon so that you can get the help you need with your case. MANY OF THEM ARE RIGHT HERE ON PEACE4!!

I KNOW the heartache and desperation you are going through, but PLEASE do not choose to work with, advocate for, or help these people to further thier agenda of shamelessly taking advantage of people whos hearts are already breaking!!

There is never a more valuable or accurate advocate than a person who has been through what another is going through. This is a long road, and one that I wouldnt want to travel on with anyone more than those who can relate to what I have been and am going through. Thank you for having this place that I can come to raise my moral, give me courage to go on and more! The love, compassion and support that I find here is immeasurable.

I would never directly critisize an organization or individual, because one thing I cannot afford emotionally or finantially is to be sued.
I just thought it was a good idea to give people some insight about the red flags to watch for.
Not everyone out there is potentially harmful to your case, but instead of being so trusting and thinking that just because someone says they are helping families of the missing out of the kindness of thier heart, it doesnt make it so. I have made alot of mistakes and hate to see people repeat them!

Yes Karen, that is the ideal, and it is the case sometimes. I feel so blessed now, to be sorrounded by people who have been there for me all along or more recently who I know are kind, compassionate, wonderful people. When we are distraught, in the throws of searching for a loved one, and havent had a chance to catch our breath...thats when it is nice to have people looking out for us so we are not preyed upon by people who will take advantage of our weakness and inability to spot a scam. We have to stick together! The people who RESENT that they have helped families of the missing and are angry about money they've spent and things that they've done with no posetive outcome or notoriety are the ones we need to watch!

Ring in the HOPE this New Year by empowering all efforts necessary to find our missing loved ones ... they need to be on NamUs with all possible DNA and dental info included on their profiles ... insist upon cooperation from law enforcement and non profit missing persons orgs working on your case ... helplessness comes from things we have no control over, but this is something that you can (fight for it if necessary) make happen ... demand it, your missing loved one deserves it. You do have power, may 2011 be the year you reclaim it ... for our missing ... xoxo

Kate and Gerry McCann's spokesman Clarence Mitchell told Sky News the picture, featured on the website VoucherDigg, should be removed immediately.

The holiday snap of Madeleine aged three, was taken hours before the youngster disappeared from a Portuguese apartment in 2007.

Kate and Gerry were horrified when they found out about it. It is offensive in the extreme.

But it is now being used to advertise '20 off: Great discount on holiday bookings'.

When users click on it they are taken to a page featuring deals from lowcostholidays.com.
