* Skeletal Findings: Two fractured ribs; and a "defect" on a bone beneath her left knee. The victim possibly had a tumor on her knee.
* Fingerprints: Not Available skeletal
* Dentals: Available. There were several teeth with untreated carries, and two amalgam fillings. Six rings,

One silver band with a scroll design,
Two thin silver bands
One silver-colored ring with a turquoise horse or unicorn,
One 1975, size 9 1/2, Robert E. Lee, Houston, TX High School ring. This ring has a blue stone with a silver colored, inexpensive metal band. It is unknown whether or not there were ever engravings on the inner side of the ring's band. The ring was upsized twice, which would have removed evidence of previous engravings. However, it does have an inlaid, "L" which many students chose as an option that year that stands for the school mascot, Robert E. Lee himself.

Case History
The victim was located on a pile of debris at the end of a Brazoria County road (101) just east of Highway 288 inside the Manvel city limits on September 10, 1990.
The skeleton was found by a man who had pulled off the highway to relieve himself. He stepped behind a barricade and saw a skull in an old tire.
No purse, wallet, clothing or hair were located around the skeleton, six rings were on the fingers, and a bracelet around her wrist.

The company that made Robert E. Lee High School's (now Lee High School) rings doesn't have records from 1975. The Lee class of 1975 had about 300 girls. Authorities would like to hear from any of the girls who lost a ring or gave it to somebody else.
Toxicology tests yielded no trace of opiates in her bone marrow. However, it is unknown whether or not other drugs were present, tested for or could have been tested for.

Pfeifer was last seen in Katy, TX on April 12, 1986. She lived with her parents. She left home in the early evening to attend a party in North Katy, with five friends. While there, Elizabeth became very drunk. Around midnight, she left the party with an unknown man. Her friends knew she was leaving, but they did not know the person she left with.
Her parents reported her as missing four weeks later. She didn't take her purse with her, containing her ID and personal information, including money.
She abused alcohol and drugs at the time.
The man that Elizabeth left the party with was found and questioned, he told the police at that time that he had left the party with Pfeifer. He took her to his apartment in Houston, and then took her back to Katy. He said that they stopped at a gas station on North Mason Road and as he was filling up his vehicle with gas, Elizabeth left him.

That is a fairly close match..good job. But since the remains were found with a high school ring and other jewelry wouldn't friends and family of Elizabeth Ann Pfeifer know the type of jewelry she wears and what high school she went to?
Here is the map reflecting the 3 cities mentioned. Houston to Katy is apx 29 Miles, Katy to Manvel is apx 46 miles. This triangle does correspond with a realistic travel route in a "triangle" form. The photos and physical description do resemble one another. The ring is a thrower though. It could of actually been Jane Does ring or it could have been a friend of hers. Without actually going through the Highschool year book that year and contacting each woman (which is not a bad idea at all) it is impossible to know. If all women from that highschool in the surrounding years are accounted for, then there is another twist to the ring. If one is missing.....maybe she has now been found? Either way, good eyes Melanie. You can contact Rocky at the Doe Network rockw1@aol.com and ask if they have been compared in the past, he recently compared 2 sets of Canadians to a John Doe in Michigan for me.

Also this ring was sized "up" twice which means it is a girls ring if it was sized up twice who ever the ring belonged to gave it to a boy for him to wear (girlfriend/boyfriend) I don't believe it was the unidentified girls ring because using the dates for possible birth if she were born in 1965 she would have only been 10 years old at the time if we go the other end of the spectrum then she would have been born in 1975 so the ring had to belong to someone like a sister that may have passed away,,, just my thoughts.
That would fit within the 50 mile radius of where the perp lived but also where she lived possibly.

Great observation, I totally missed putting that together as a reason it isn't hers.
Okay I sent the possible match into Rocky I will let you know what he says.
He is forwarding this to the team that works on possible matches then possibly on to LE.
I agree with Maureen the rings are a signifigant thing. I wonder if she was with rings before she left or did she obtain them from someone she was with after leaving, if this is her...Hmmm this may be worth looking into.
