Dallas police asked for help Tuesday in locating a woman who was apparently abducted by her husband after a violent traffic crash that left a second woman critically injured.

Investigators are looking for Bobby Shayne Scott, 27, and his wife, 25-year-old Misty Rose Scott.

At 2:30 a.m. Tuesday Boddy Scott crashed his car into another vehicle carrying his wife and a second woman, 39-year-old Tracy Araujo, dectectives said.

Lt. Craig Miller said Bobby Scott ran over Araujo, leaving her in critical condition. Miller said Scott then stole the other car with his wife still inside.

Detectives have not been able to reach her. Miller said police have "grave concerns about her welfare."

Miller said the Scotts had argued earlier in the day at a motel near Mid-Park and Central Expressway, where the crash occurred.

Friends of the Scotts apparently came to the motel to help her leave the area before the crash occurred, police said.

The Scotts are believed to be traveling in a Kia Sportage with Texas license plate #KRC-777.

Police find SUV of woman run over while helping friend; couple still missing

Dallas police said today they have found a stolen sport utility vehicle abandoned by a man accused of running over his wife's friend and then taking the woman's SUV with his wife inside.

A green 2008 Kia Sportage belonging to Tracy Araujo was found at Northhaven and Dennis roads in Northwest Dallas on Tuesday, police said. Authorities were still searching for Bobby Shayne Scott, 26, and his wife Misty Rose Scott, who may be in danger.

"The Dallas Police Department has grave concerns about the welfare of Misty Scott," Dallas police Lt. Craig Miller said.

Police said Bobby Scott ran down Araujo, 38, when she got out of her SUV to confront him after he used his Dodge Caravan to ram her vehicle about 2 a.m. Tuesday along the North Central Expressway service road near Midpark Road.

The Scotts had fought at a North Dallas hotel earlier, and Araujo and another man drove to the hotel early Tuesday morning to get Misty Scott, 25. They left, and Bobby Scott followed in his minivan, according to police documents.

When Araujo got out to inspect the damage and confront Bobby Scott, he ran her over, police said. The man in Araujo's SUV got out to help Araujo, who was pinned under the minivan.

Scott got out of his minivan and drove away in Araujo's Kia with his wife in the back seat, police said.

Officers responding to the scene found Araujo pinned under the right front passenger side of Bobby Scott's minivan, according to police documents. She underwent brain surgery Tuesday and remained in critical condition at Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas, police said.

"I have concerns because [Bobby Scott] ran over a person, knew that he critically injured this person and fled the scene," Miller said. "Knowing also that he’s been involved in an assault on his wife earlier, he could be desperate.

"This could have pushed him to the brink and we just don’t know what his status is and what he is capable of."
