Okay, I am strangely both really excited about, yet really frustrated by this...
Excited because...my word! It's so clear! Finally, our government is truly doing something for the families of the missing! They have answered the many fervent pleas and as a direct result NamUs has been created!
We don't even have to spend additional time on fundraising efforts for it! It is government funded! (thus the .gov inNamUs.gov)
So...how and why in the world doesn't EVERY SINGLE CREDIBLE MISSING PERSONS AGENCY AND RESOURCE not have NamUs clearly displayed and included on their site, materials, etc.????!!!
If we truly care about one another, if we truly do have these hearts that break for the family members of the missing, if we truly want to bring them home...then...we should be sharing NamUs with those of the missing in the highest decibel manner possible! RIGHT?!
Because...what really is the point in having a billion albeit wonderful missing persons agencies if they aren't able to work together for the greater good?
That's one thing I so adore about Peace4 the Missing...the ability its members to be "one, sole agenda-free" by not putting self-promotion in the forefront...but rather consistently and strongly uniting together, to truly care and most effectively work towards the common goal we all share...to bring home the Missing...
AMEN!!!!!!
AND having a variety of groups in differnt areas but NOT having central links mutual inter linking within agencies and states- having readily available and easy assisible networking/connection abilities is SOOO VITAL to successful use and implementation - if every group works together instead of on their own you can and will enhance their abilities, resources and almost surely increase their effectiveness in getting answers and solving cases/finding the missing! Individually they do not have as many resources or abilities and range!
Don't let Beauracy take over!
Wow..you're powerful and for the greater good, Christy...I like you mucho... ;) Thanks for being here!
The more I think about it and talk with all of you the more sense it seems to make to keep Peace4 a grassroots effort, to never become an "organization" with one agenda...but, rather a meeting spot where many voices continue to be heard...because it's not about us...
What do you all think? Nevermind, I just went way off topic again, LOL... ;)
xoxoxo
(Wow...I completely sound like a hippy, must come from hanging out with Delilah for so long, ;)
NamUs.Gov is not only for the Unidentified, it also our National Database for the Missing. It is also unique in that it is accessible to both Law Enforcement as well as to the General Public...it is VITAL that we have ONE MAIN Missing Persons Database...reasons for which...I think we could prove here within discussions at Peace4 alone...regarding confusion of...are they registered? - has the case file been updated to the correct status? etc. and x a trillion so on...
Of course other areas should also list Missing Persons, keep databases, that is beyond AWESOME and IMPORTANT! THAT is Awareness! But, without a main central source, everything will remain confusing and NO DOUBT less WILL be done to find the Missing...
But, if we continue to stonewall NamUs...we'll be participating in potentially pulling the plug on it...and what makes us think the Government will even offer another alternative after this...
The Government heard the cries of the missing, they responded, they have given us NamUs...now what are we going to do with it?
Are anyone of you willing to take the risk of throwing this valid and worthy response, this amazing tool we've been given away?
Or should I ask, is there any FAMILY MEMBER OF THE MISSING willing to jeopardize it? To everyone else, they are Missing Persons Cases, to THEM they are FAMILY!
Ditto Patty!! I will post this information about Bethany in a 'Cold Case' Topic....thank-you, we don't want to forget not even one " special person". No matter what age, or how long they have been missing, there is always HOPE!! Ava
