Voice Platform and Support Network for Families of Missing and Victims of Crime
A place to share letters written to Jesse 'Opie' Ross ... a missing, never forgotten and always loved son, brother and adopted "near family member" to many ... <3
Okay ... I'll start ... ;)
Hey Opie,
Well I'm writing you this letter - of which about half a decade back I myself might have found a bit peculiar ... reason being that, well - I've never YET had the opportunity to actually meet you in person.
Truth to be told, if we were all honest here - I imagine that
when you do read this ... you yourself are very well thinking ... why in the world is this lady writing me a letter?
Lol, I can get that ... plus side of the reason why this stranger me now "knows" you is because you have instantly fallen into the hearts of (myself obviously included) many ... sad part being that lots of people who "know" you now ... are more about knowing your "missing person case file" than perhaps about you really ...
Which (if so) is pretty much the most ridiculous thing/thought on the entire universe!!
After all ... you're OPIE!
You (my friend I've grown to love) have been born (I have no doubt) to live a life that would truly and legitimately go down into history as a beacon of light to so very many.
Your family has done an EX
CELLENT job of sharing about you as YOU ... thanks to them you're not "just" a missing person, Jesse ... even to those who might only know about you at all due to the fact that you are ... missing.
Speaking of .... you have REALLY cool parents. You've seen your Mom and Dad all savvy on facebook (plus), right? They're doing you so proud ... ;)
AND! They are SO funny! AND!!! They love you SOOO much ... best part for the rest of us (as I've touched on before here) is how they so generously allow the rest of us peeks into the why that it is that you are so truly missed by them ... and you know what, friend?
You are SUCH an incredibly AWESOME person! (Yo
u know that already too, huh? ;)
Jessie, I so hope for the opportunity of being able to meet you someday on this earth and without a doubt I KNOW I will someday have the opportunity to meet you in Heaven.
So ... if you are currently with our utmost Father that we both share, please help us find you down here too ... for the whole wide world will never be "okay" without "our" Opie ... xoxo
With much love from your friend you've yet to meet,
Sara Huizenga
Peace4 the Missing
P.S. Happy Birthday, Bud ... <3

Hey Jesse, Did they call you carrot top too? They did me. I guess you hold a special place in my heart because we could be sibblings. I too have freckles and red(orange) hiar...lol
You have really touched the hearts of so many of us in the United States and even abroad. You must really have been something special because both of your Parents both Donald and Donna have taken us in and made us part of your family too, so because of this we all search for you the best way we know how each day.
I want you to know that we are here for your parents as we are here for you as well and when they laugh we laugh and when they cry we cry. They have introduced you to us and we love you now and have taken you in as our brother and friend.
Your not to far from us and we know if we dont give up you will come home to us one day. We promise you never to give up on you and to let others know why you are loved and treasured so much. So with that being said Wishing you the most beautiful and special Birthday the most treasured blessings and a thought that you are always on our minds and in our hearts.

As we drove down to Wichita to share you with family, I thought about you all the way down. Your mom, Andy, and I still hold you so close in our hearts. We stop at old familiar places and sometimes it is heartbreaking that you are not there and yet the memories are so precious we can't stay away. We would love to know that you are happy and safe, but would truely rather have you home. You can't know the huge saddness that is constantly a part of our lives. Still we hope, and we lean on family and friends; You can see in these postings that there are people here you have never met and yet they too hold you in their hearts. We know there are many others who hurt as we do and try to be brave for them. So if we are unable to see you in this life, we will look for you in the life to come. Come home if you can, if not may God surround you in his eternal love until we can all be together again. Love you more than words can say.
