Patti,
I'm sorry the season brings a heaviness to you instead of the joy the holidays represent. Isn't it strange how different our lives become? I relate to your comment about faking it through. Though our loved one returned, things remain so different. We have doubts, fears, questions, traumas and hatred that we never had before. These new feelings and thoughts are like scar tissue. They remain a long, long time.

May 2009 be the year to bring us to our Missing!

We may not always need all the answers to the how's.

We may not ever have the answers to the why's.

What we do receive is what we can endure. I believe it is in God's hands and his time, and if I can trust in him, then I am able to survive today and reach out tomorrow!

IN Hope, Heart, Faith and
Peace.

My thoughts and prayers are with your Family. January 20th will mark 2 years that my Son Bradley Olsen has been missing. We will continue in our quest to also bring him justice in finding his Body and convicting the Killers. I Pray every day that we all will have answers. Forever Praying & Hoping, Sue Olsen

Many times we see the numbers of how many there are missing and we know those numbers don't even near reflect how many are actually missing. But what is even scarier to think about is how high the number must be of all the friends and family and coworkers that are affected by all of the missing persons. That number has to be mind boggling.

What's even sadder is that the date that our loved ones went missing is what is seared into our brains. All the identifying dates of our lives (birth, sacraments, marriage, death) all have a place to be recorded be it in a public recording and/or on a church register. Where do the missing get recorded? Where is their register? Where can their future generations of ancestors go to see what happened?

8 years missing how horrible for Karen Jo's family. How horrible they have to face this date every year. A date that altered so many lives.

Hopes and prayers to the family that they have answers soon. And, thank you for the work you do for the missing...through that work you've made it known to the world that Karen Jo matters.

Karen Jo was a very pretty young woman. You just don't want to believe she met a horrible fate or that this kind of thing happens..but it does and it is real. There is NEVER an excuse for abuse. It's time we stand up and say enough is enough and no more. How??? Maybe better educate our young people on what the signs of abuse and abusers are, or what mental illness is like, or how demonic activity and demons come into play to drive a person insane and capable of doing this kind of thing? I do know sinse Nicole Simpsons death this has been brought more into the public eye and it is a Foundation now...which helps bring public awareness. Even one death because of someone elses tempers and angers is one too many. We just gotta get it stopped.

It may be that when we no longer know what to do,
we have come to our real work,
and when we no longer know which way to go,
we have begun our real journey.

Another year, many more tears. It was very hard this year with Steph and Brandon. Especially Stephanie, who is missing her Mom so much. When I saw her face I could feel her pain. I have seen this same look for the last 7 years and I am assured I will see it again.

Sad as it is each day without Karen Jo, Christmas will never be the same. Faking it is our usual way, trying to force the smiles and sometimes laughter sneaks in. Then, you see the guilt from having that little bit of joy.

I know Karen would not want us to never celebrate the reason for the season again, and I pray that our day will come soon where we are able to bring her home. ]

Until that day comes we will keep our Hope!

Many Blessings for 2009 and Thank Each and Every One of You for all your support, prayers and faith!
