If fabrication of a false missing persons report were made illegal - would Casey Anthony have been found guilty on this charge as well?

This type of crime and it is a crime, is just another example of the justice systems failure to hold individuals responsible for their actions.  You don't just walk away and leave a family emotionally and financially crippled.  Judges, legislators they all are coldly inept and uncaring concerning the cruelty of such an act.  The country is full of young mothers raising children alone while spouse just walks away.   This is a crime and should be pursued and the criminals required to live up to their responsibilities.  If it is determined that the person involved is unable to function, then the spouse that was left behind should have complete and total control of all assets belonging to the family and any assets acquired by the fleeing person should become property of the spouse left behind.  Once the fleeing person severs themselves from the family, the family should have no financial obligations for the actions of the fleeing person.  If that person is capable of incurrring debt they are capable of paying it.  I have nothing but respect for those who have to survive under the present system and nothing but loathing for those who allow this miscarriage of justice to continue.

Maureen you are a strong, honest, hard working, dedicated, loving woman. One day you will look back at the life that you built aj if you know what I mean and the flowers will be more vibrant, the world will be more inviting and you will feel more alive! These things just take time. One day you will see the day that j left as the beginning to a difficult road to a better place! Until you get to that better place and after your friends are all here for you! Love you so much for who you are!

Sara and FindMyWayHome thanks for thinking of me. May use to be a great month for our family. Mother's Day, my birthday, opening our pool, watching all our hard work in the yard spring to life, getting the boat, skiis and fishing equipment ready. Mother's Day weekend was always the start of the boating season for us, we' always got the boat in the water that weekend. Now I don't even have a home where I can watch my flowers come up let alone a pool, a boat, skiis or fishing equip. May now is the month Jon disappeared, the month he was found, and now nothing will ever be the same again. I lived for May and now I just dread it. I'll have to find a new month for new beginnings. May sucks! LOL
