it's so nice to be a part of this group, to realize that you may help people somehow...and to have lots of opportunities to improve your own life philosophy. when life is too tough I always turn to literature (philosophy and science mostly-usually download great books by rapidshare search engine) in such a way I always get some useful piece of advice, start to see things differently. it's the best remedy to my mind. though there are many others: music, friends, god...

Gwennie and Tony..I too take Gabapentin..800mgs 3xday but I use it for nerve pain..mainly for my hands, arms and legs..it doesn't help my muscle spasms though like it does for Gwennie.I've been taking it for over 6 yrs. the highest mgs is 900 I think.I'm so happy you found some relief Tony..Why didn't they try it earlier ??..always..john

To all my friends who are going through rough times whatever it is.Sickness,Financial,loss of a loved one or any other situation.Life is not easy with so many mountains to climb and rivers to cross and valley's to go thru.Some go thru more than others but we all go thru them.I am praying for each and everyone of you and hope all will get better soon.I can relate to alot of the problems as I have been thru some of them.I always try to put myself in the persons place so I can understand how they feel.I pray for Tony,Angie and her sister,Also Gwen,Lourdes,Tami and findmywayhome and all who need this.
Take care all of you and I am thinking of each of you.

Tony it is wonderful you are feeling better yes I take it too. It is wonderful. It helps so much and it is not a pain killer. But rather it works on the muscles and nerves in our bodies. I just heard on the news that they attribute fibromyalgia to over active nerves in our bodies now. Wow, who would have thunk it...lol Love and hugs Tony.

That is great news! What an ordeal you've been through. Thanks for sharing the name of the drug that helped you! And, yep many prayers were said for you so the combo correct drug and prayer is powerful!

I just wanted to thank all of you for your prayers regarding my constant pain. About 3 weeks ago it peaked to an unmanageable level, a level of pain scaled at 10 stayed with me for nearly 2 weeks. I was ready to give up after spending time at the hospital and many visits to my Doctor. They increased my level of Morphine, but nothing helped. My last visit about 10 days ago to my Doctor, there was a medical staudent assisting and looking over the long list of pain killers I have tried, we came accross one named Gabapentin I never tried. It has often been used for those who suffer from eppelepsy and seizures. It has been used for pain also. The reason for my long explanation is to give you a GREAT report, since - about 10 days ago - going on Gabapentin my pain level dropped about 80% - WOW - I thank God everyday for this, as it was not only the medication but the many friends like you and my church family praying for me.

For those suffering from Fibromyalgia you may want to considder this medication. No not all meds work for all of us, but this one is worth a try. Please pass this on to those you may know that suffer from this disease.
Again I want to thank all of you who do such an awesome job in encouraging one another!
