Missing 96-year-old KCK man found safe

A 96-year-old Kansas City, Kan., man who had been missing since Thursday has been found, police said this morning.

John Marshall was found safe at a local hospital.

No further information was available this morning.

TRENTON, N.J. – A mute elderly woman known only as "Jane Doe" since she was found wandering in a New Jersey mall 15 years ago has finally been identified. Lt. Eduardo Ojeda of the New Jersey Department of Human Services police discovered recently that the woman is Elba Leonor Diaz Soccarras, who turns 75 on March 28. She has Alzheimer's disease and has been bedridden in a New Jersey psychiatric hospital for years....

Slowly but surely a number of states in the USA is starting to implement the Silver Alerts. I believe New Jersey just signed on earlier this week. Hopefully by the end of the year...it will be in every state. I can tell you that North Carolina has been posting Silver Alerts nearly everyday. The only reason I do not post the missing person is because they are located and found within a few hours. I wait a few hours after I see an alert and then post it. Luckily, many are found fast enough. However, on the flip side...that is what is the deterrant in some states because they don't want to go to the expense of posting and removing postings and posting and removing postings. Sad, but true. Again, many states are starting to see the value. My suggestion is that everyone in the forum CHECK ON GOOGLE with your own state and see where the status of Silver Alerts are. Contact your legislators if you do not like what you are finding. Hugs.

JOHNSTON COUNTY (WTVD) -- A Silver Alert has been issued for a missing 85-year-old man.
Hubert Lee has gray hair and blue eyes.
He was last seen wearing a red and black checkered shirt dark pants and sneakers.
Lee was last seen on Medlin Road in Clayton. He was driving a gray 2000 Chevy Silverado truck with license plate PVV-4692.
