- I am a client of D.O.V.E.s a Domestic Violence Shelter in town. Also I help them out when I can since without help, they cennot help others who need it.
- What brought you to Peace4? What are you most hoping to accomplish here?
- I am a single mother, victum of domestic violence, and currently still being harassed by my abuser. I have a 5 yr old son whom I have tried to protect from all of this but his dad exposes him to it. I am less than a year away from graduating college with a BS in Physics, and the closer I get, the worse the harassment gets.
- How did you hear about Peace4?
- Noone, I found it myself.

- I am not sure about having time to be an 'active' member. I looked online for a poem that D.O.V.E.s would like me to read tonight at the candlelight vigil.
- Positive Suggestions/Ways you may be able to improve/contribute to Peace4?
- I can help write articles, and talk with those who might benefit from things I have learned in my own journey through this. One of the hardest things to stop feeling but very vital for being able to move on is to handle the feelings of helplessness and the 'what do I do now, and how do I do it, it is a big task..." feeling...I tell the ladies at the shelter, the first thing they must recognize is what they have direct control of, and what they don't. Most feel they have control of nothing, and are surprised when I can name 5 things off the top of my head they ALWAYS have control of. I have a few 'touchpoints' I try to let them know like that, making their environment the way they want, understanding that people respond to you the way you allow them to, steps to finding who they are, and setting standards to live by, and then having the willpower to follow that path, etc.
