- My uncle "John Victor Dial" has been missing since 1966 and I want people to understand it has been estimated that only 10-50% of the actual true number of cases have been filed with NCIC. Just because a case has been filed with a local law enforcement agency does not mean it has been listed with the NCIC.

- I think because my family has had to endure this emotional turmoil I understand and I do believe legislation needs to improve the reporting system by making more standard requirements also to help alleviate the huge back log of cases fallen into cold case drawer. I forgot to mention my uncle did not get reported missing until 2005 because back in 1966 that was before computers, fax machines, everything was done by snail mail it was much slower.

How many of us have encounted problems with local law enforcement agencies that fail to place the missing on NCIC databases. Just because a case has been filed with a local law enforcement does not mean it has been listed with the NCIC.
