This is a cause that is close to my heart. I have not lived the nightmare of having a loved one go missing, and hope I never do, but the fact that there are so many children who will grow up wondering what happened to mommy spurs me to take these cases and help anyway I am able.

Stacy Peterson plaque stolen from outside aquatic center

A plaque memorializing Stacy Peterson was stolen from outside the Bolingbrook Recreation and Aquatic Center on Tuesday, police from the southwest suburb said this morning.
The plaque, which reads, "Stacy Peterson. Mother, sister, friend," was stolen from the facility, 200 Lindsay Ln., sometime after 6 p.m. Tuesday.
"There was some dirt leading from where it was displayed [from the sidewalk to the parking lot]," said Bolingbrook Police Lt. Mike Rompa, adding that a lilac bush was also stolen from the display site.
Stacy Peterson was the fourth wife of former Bolingbrook Police Sgt. Drew Peterson, who is jailed on charges of killing his third wife, Kathleen Savio.
Drew Peterson was indicted in Savio's 2004 death and is a suspect in Stacy's disappearance. He has denied any involvement in either case.
Rompa said no one was in custody this morning in connection with the thefts

Thank you Sara for posting this. To me "closure" means you are supposed to forget or hide away all memories as if your loved one never existed. It means bottling up feelings instead of naturally working through them ... as if feelings and memories...
I think closure is good when you are looking for a loved one and they are no longer with us. It is a word too often used as though it is a good thing. It is only marginally better than not knowing. Rather than closure we should perhaps accept that...
I have a confession to make.
I hate the word closure
when connected with the loss of a loved one.
You know what I mean --
a spouse, a sibling, a friend dies.
Weeks later there are those who want to know
when the bereaved will find closure.
