Hi I am starting to do research on what resources are available to missing adults.  I ran across an organization that is call Bring them Home.  It supposedly is an organization that merged with the Center for Missing Adults (which I had never heard of before either) and has backing from the Discovery Channel.  It claims that is provides families with caseworkers and advocates.  I have sent them numerous email but have not received a reply back.  I was curious if anyone has used or had…See More

I turned on the news this morning to hear that a young man who had been missing for a couple of weeks was found in a trash can behind someone's house.  The media then zoomed in on a flyer that the family had been handing out during this time in attempt to find him.  They then covered the family pleaing for information about the murder of this young man.

I then googled his name to see if I had simply missed the news coverage about his disappearance and the only place I found his name…

Go at your own pace Jennifer.  Those popular stages of grief don't exist. Those stages of grief were one of the cruelest thing ever thrown on mankind. Grief cannot be prescribed as it is as different for each of us as each one of us is different. You'll hear me say this a lot but I believe grief is more like a wave, it goes in, through and out of us and keeps on recycling.  Some days the waves are more fierce some days they are fairly calm.  Just as long as know the waves are washing out of you and not getting stuck then your grief is following on a normal pattern for you.  I imagine your anxiety attacks happened when the wave got stuck but sounds like you've taken steps to help it wash out of you and continue on it's cycle.

 

Also go at your own pace of sharing on here. I'm sure you will find that there are many people on Peace4 who will be happy to reach out and support you.  Kind of what we do around here, lean on each other!

Jennifer .... welcome to Peace4.  I've thought of you often.  If there is anything I can ever do for you please let me know.  You've walked in the family of the missing's steps so there is much you can do to reach out and help other family's going through this.  You faced many of the same stumbling blocks that many of these families face.  Share when you feel like it.  Also, know we are here to support you in whatever way we can.
