Missing Minorities

According to recent statistics, persons of color make up an estimated 40 percent of missing people in the United States. Of that 85 percent were Black – far greater than their approximately 13 percent share of the U.S. population and yet they were the subject of fewer than 23 percent of all news reports.See More

Happy early birthday, Stephanie; may God's blessings be with you especially on this your special day and may His blessings also be with you on every other day of the year!

I agree with people having to go to so many websites to be more informed about the numbers of missing.  That is why Peace4 is command central for Billy's Law.  We are striving for the day when all the missing and all unidentified persons will be on one site....NamUs.gov  That will then make it easier for all law enforcement, all media, all awareness groups and the general public to access all cases.

I have had no problem getting cases both local and national exposure but not everyone can do that....it is pretty hit or miss for many of the cases and shouldn't be that way.  I will totally support a better way of getting all cases publicity.

Stephanie,

I live in Kansas and I have not heard of your endeavor.  Would like to hear more!  I also would like to hear about everyone that is working on this with you.

I tend to disagree respectfully with you on the people who get the least publicity.  There are over 100,000 missing in the US and we hear of very few of those cases and that crosses all socioeconomic statuses and races and any other parameter you want to put to it.  After over 6 years in this world of the missing and having had a loved one missing what I see is adult males are the least publicized cases.  But in the end, and as most families come to find, it is the family that shout the loudest and stays in media's face that gets the publicity.

I look forward to learning more about you.

Hi Stephanie ... can you discuss how you became involved with the missing?  Have you ever had a loved one who was missing?
