On November 12, 2008, Christine Walters was found standing naked on the doorstep of a home on Tompkins Hill Rd, over 20 miles South of Arcata and 9 miles south of Eureka, California. She was covered with scratches and her feet were bloodied from running in the woods. She was frightened and told the homeowner that someone was after her.
Just weeks before, Walters was a junior at the University of Wisconsin, studying botany. Over the summer break, Christine took a vacation to Portland, Oregon. She told her parents towards summer's end, she was going to stay longer and was going to visit friends in Eureka, California. At first she kept regular contact with her parents, but over the weeks the contact became less.
Now, just a few weeks later, Christine is running away from some unknown person. The police are called and they arrive at the home, and take Christine to St. Joseph's hospital in Eureka. She was found to not be under the influence of drugs. She wouldn't tell the police what happened to her, other than she had been running from something in the woods.
While she was in the hospital, Christine called her parents, Anita and Dean Walters in Steven Point, Wisconsin, who told her they would arrange for her to come home.
"She called from a hospital in Eureka and she was very scared," Anita Walters said. "She wasn't making any sense to me and was acting paranoid. She said that she was at some type of ceremony where they blew smoke in her face. She said someone was after her, and then she just stopped talking."

I have recently start a Facebook cause to help build public support and to convince the EPD to allow AMW to investigate further by airing Christine's story. According to Anita Walters, EPD refused to cooperate with AMW. Please join the cause. We are not looking for donations, just public support. I know many of you here are going through serious loss and understand Anita's urgency to find her daughter. Let's help by adding names to this cause.
