A Message From Carolyn Johnson, Mother of Clinton Nelson

To all of those who have tried to help our family find out what happened to Clinton. I want to say thank you! We have been blessed over the last three years. We have met so many people that have been real blessings to our family.

I am writing this to the person or person’s that are responsible for the disappearance of my son. My son Clinton Devon Nelson – disappeared on September 1 2006. I will never forget how terrifying those words were when I first heard them “Clinton is missing”. I know that for weeks, I felt like I was jumping out of my skin everytime the phone rang. As terrible as those words were – I could never have imagined that we would still be going through this 3 years later! The sad part is that we don’t have any more answers today than we had then….we only have more questions. We have done a total of four searches. I have heard every theory from his death was accidental to his death involves foul play. I have gone door to door asking questions. We have followed up on every lead. Everyone, including law enforcement seems to agree that in all likelyhood, my boy is dead. I have heard so many horrifying rumors, with no way of knowing what is real and what is not! Here is what I know – I will not stop looking for answers about what has happened to my son! I am learning to live with my new normal – my broken heart is healing and will always show the scars. I don’t know why this happened…I don’t know exactly what happened. I know that when God wants me to know…I will know! I know that God can forgive anything, and I pray that the person(s) responsible for the loss of my son – will be forgiven! I pray for your souls! Even if I am not meant to know what happened in my life time, even if those that are responsible for our loss are never held responsible for your involvement in my son’s disappearance….you will not escape the consequences of your actions in the end. My question for you…would you prefer to accept responsibility for your actions on this earth….or for all eternity?

To those of you that know the person(s) responsible, you have an opportunity! We are offering a $25,000 reward for the location of my son’s remains and the arrest of the person(s) responsible. I ask you to look at the person you love the most…how would you feel if that person was taken from you? How would you feel if you were never allowed to say good bye? How would you feel if you were never allowed to give your lost loved one a proper burial? If the thought of this is terrifying you…than I beg you to come forward with the information we need to hold the person(s) responsible for the loss of our son! I wish that there was a way to end the anguish of not knowing or the helplessness of not being able to directly do something everyday to find answers. Carolyn, I know how the anniversary date of someone you love that is missing, can be a difficult day to get thru. On August 26, my daughter, Heather has been for 14 yrs. I know how in one minute, every word in your vocabulary was changed and rearranged. I know how it feels to not know if your child is alive or not. I've said this so many times. This is the most unmerciful crime that there could be.........to not know.........Then, hearing what has happened to Jaycee Dugard...well..that has just shaken all of us, hasn't it? Please know that you are not alone in your search for the truth. Please know you are not alone in anything you feel and have felt over the years. Somebody knows where your son is. Somebody knows where my Heather is. Someone knows where Donna Jou is. Someone knows where Amy Bradley and Pat Viola are..someone knows where all of these missing people are. What we must hope that people learn from Jaycee's survival is that for people to please pay attention to what is going on right next door. Matthew 10:26 says that there will be nothing hidden that won't be revealed and covered that won't be uncovered. Jaycee was revealed...

Ms. Johnson,
I am so sorry for disappearance of your son, Clinton. This is painful, as I was reading your note, I could not stop crying, it is very difficult to lose a child especially when it is mysterious. I do understand your pain and agony; I am in the same situation. My daughter, Donna Jou, 19 years young, college student is missing since June 23, 2009. The suspect, a 3 times convicted child molester, John Steven Burgess confessed 3 months ago (after nearly 2 years) that he had killed her and dumped her into the Pacific Ocean.
Many ground and underwater searches have been conducted with negative results. I don't think he had told the truth, he was submitted to a polygraph examination, which he was found deceptive.
Please don’t give up hope, it is possible that Clinton is somewhere and you find him and bring him home safe.

My own heart throbbed while reading...
As a barren women, now 53 & widow for 29 months, all I can do to try & identify with you, is thinking of our 2 Tabby's Cats, that are truly like children to me. As they are my only family now & I truly, do not think I could handle losing even one of them...& therefore, my tears have poured for you dear Sister.
My prayers are on the way, to our Heavenly Father - (Cling to Him for all you're worth - He is the only one, that will never leave you nor forsake you) - on your behalf !
