Ref: Son on the streets. I recieved a correspondence from a hurting mother thins morning. Her son was in prison. Of course, both of them went through the painful ordeal. This week he was released. I was to be a reunion and a time of unspeakable joy for both mother and son. It was not to be. This son insisted that he wanted to go back to the street life living on the streets. This mother shed bitter tears and a shattered heart slipped quietly to the ground one peice at a time as she stood and watched her son leave by bus for the streets of a large city again where he was first arressted. She asked please help. I felt compelled to write her back. I hope it is some amount of encouragment to other parents.

I am a father, grandfather, and I love my children more than I can describe. They are in their late twenties now but I love them more than ever before. I cannot say I know exactly how you feel but it would almost destroy me if one turned down a warm bed and food for sleeping on the streets.
Remember though, you have a good son and he will see it one day just as the prodigal son did.
You raised him good and instilled all you could within his spirit and now you must believe the seed will one day germinate with a spoken word from God or a word from God through someone else.
The prodigal son had money at home and everything he could ask for but he had a rebellious spirit and poor confidence and much pride in his heart.
We cannot ask or know how our children get that type of pride but we have to trsut god with it.
Then one day the prodigal recieved something that money , fame, good parenting skills, and nothing else could buy him or give him...HE HAD A REVELATION FROM GOD while living in squalor conditions. And he listened and he turnd back to God and family.

I feel that the greatest thing our children regardless of age need today is not our money, jokes, cars, health clubs, night clubs, and lectures but a fresh revelation from God of themselves and only God can give them that revelation.
Pray that God give your son a fresh revelation of himself to himself, of his needs, of the pain he creates in your heart, and pray God to give him a vision forothers living on the streets. Who knows, maybe God sees he will be a street minister and who would know better how to reach the street walkers than one who has been there?
As a matter of fact let's all pray that God will give us peace as parents. We love our children. But we need a break from the stresses and demands of parenting. Grown children are responsible. It does not take away our pain if we care as a parent but we can only do so much. Let's pray and ask god to give our children a fresh revelation of HIMSELF and themselves WHERE EVER they might be known or unknown. In Jesus' worthy name.
Amen.
Jim
P.S. If God lays a burden on your heart today to send $5 to Peace4themissing toward their registration as a non-profit please obey your heart. I really believe God has placed this ministry here for a purpose. I see this organization doing mighty and wonderful things for others, through the many encouragers, paryer warriors, Peace advocates, attorneys, advocacies, specialists, and many more. No one has asked me to do this and I expect nothing in return as you have already blessed us with your prayers. I felt heavy in my heart this morning to make this appeal. We have almost reached our own goal to self-apply for non-profit and now we want to pass the blessing onto our fellow friends and loved ones in Peace4.

God bless and many prayers.

Love All;

Jim and Carolyn Harnage

WE MUST HOLD OUR CHILDREN UP IN PRAYER, AND PRAY THAT THEY ARE SAFE WHERE EVER THEY ARE. THEY MAY NOT ALWAY AGREE WITH WHAT WE WANT, BUT THEY WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER OUR LOVE FOR THEM.
