Living with AML Leukemia, any advice, please?

My Dad is 70 years old young, he looks and feels great, there's only one problem...he has AML, Leukemia, and both a try at chemo as well as mylotarg, have not put him into remission...so now? Well, thus the point of this post...

If you've ever read, know, heard, tried of something, please share...

Please don't take on the role of diffusing my "fight" for my Father, this is how I must travel this journey...God understands, my Dad supports me and to be quite honest, that's really all the opinions regarding that matter.

Are you or is anyone that you know familiar with AML? Do you have any contacts in this field? Have you or one of yours ever traveled a similar journey? Could you please take some time to share some tips, advice, resources that you might have learned along the way?

Please don't hesitate to share...here, elsewhere, get the word...I'm asking for all of your help...

Perhaps I should share a little bit more, about me...

I know death and I know how to get through it, I know what is ahead, how it feels, how it smells, what it looks like...I know it from my first Father that I lost in 7th grade, I know it from the deaths of my Grandparents, Uncles and Aunts, I know death suddenly and I know death "planned" out, I know it in young lives and I know it with those of many years, I know it from my best friend, who died when we were both 18, whose last place on earth was in the passenger seat of my car.

I know death, death does not scare scare me. Because I know what comes next...and how much that is something to look forward to, not dread.

And here and now, I know when to not give up and I won't, I will try, I will continue to spend time with my Dad, to capture these moments, to cherish each second we have, but I won't give up. All the while, I will look him in the eye and I will tell my Daddy, that I'm not giving up. As long as he has breath in him, I'm not giving up.

So, what I ask for is help in resources and advice...I don't need to know how to let go, I already know how.

Thats it no room for surrender! and no room for telling you to surrender. God does not like death he hates it he wants us to fight and to cherish all life its our gift from him. So you go girl!! I for one as many more are right behind you and we raise our voices as one ...Pappa stays Pappa stays. Do you have anyone over there that has good knowledge of Blood Cell Salts. These saved my 3 yr old at the time from Aplastic Anemia ...loks like and behaves like Luekemia and nearly killed him...he is a healthy 25 yr old now.

All we have right now is a doctor who said she called 3 other people and they didn't have any ideas either and that all she can do is schedule for him to get platelets on M/W/F's...

This would be a great place to list any 'alternative' or 'natural' healing processes that we can research. I know a lot of places will use Holistic remedies, or therapies which integrate the body, mind and spirit.

Just briefly my experience ok My boy Ben at 3 yrs was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia presents like Luekemia but after many tests was found to be this. His red cell count was extremely low and he was said to be critical. i quickly researched and speaking with his cancer specialists was told that a blood transfusion may complicate things. A friend of ours who after the vietnam war took alot of time looking for ways to counteract the Asian Orange side effects. He got on to this Tissue cell salts lucky for my son. We loaded little Ben up with them 2 hourly I think [cant overdose] and within 2 days his count turned and started climbing. He never looked back and is a very healthy young man now. You need to find someone who knows just how much and what is the mostimportant cell salt to give for your dad that might make a difference. There are 12 of them all specific to something our blood needs. I would think a combination and I could see which might be useful. Note also we did not choose the transfusion and the specialist backed us all the way and boy was he a happy man when he saw the first result back from Ben and it was up. He wrote down everything we did and he told us that in his experience the transfusion made the child sicker. Ben was tired but sitting up and drawing been a boy lol but he was white as a sheet I could see his veins. His heart enlarged but was a good tuff heart. He was literally a few days off death and i was planning the funeral in my mind. I know it was the Cell Salts and the specialist agreed with me too it was really dramatic. Today I sat with my Dad for hours in the hospital while he got platelets, his mouth kept bleeding, due to the fact that they were so low. Two days ago he felt great, low white blood counts, but felt good. Today his white blood is at 10.2, last Friday it was at 2.7, this jump, it's worst case...of course, they aren't doing anything for him, so...

I talked to him again, he does want to try a Clinical Study Treatment, contrary to some previous thoughts, and it seems that there actually may be options, contrary to hope killer messages received on Friday...

So, he could be maybe saved, but now...I just hope there is still enough time...

when my nephew Michael got leukemia he used a source of aloe vera juice in swab form to help heal his mouth. lips and also I know of a plant called california greens they grow naturally in moist areas. This is all I can offer to help with the care issue. I will seek assistance with this from my sister in law she took care of michael most of the time. My son has been fighting Prostate problem for years which worries me about cancer he did lot studying on Home remities and he a lot of foods can bring up immune system, in other Countries like China and a few others are useing thing,'s the FDA will not let into USA.

There are many books out there I know my Son bought lot and when he eats like this he feels lot better from natural cures, Keven Trudo has some out that there really good is were we started and lot good information in it.

Please just read up on this do not take my word for it and I pray to God it helps.

My oldest Son gets angry with me because I do not eat like him but he dose not understand after you have a child missing almost ten years the 17 I do not want to live I have seen to much pain
