In 1999 the Bureau of Justice Statistics reported that “Estimates from the National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS) indicate that in 1999 persons 12 years of age or older experienced about 791,210 violent crimes by a current or former spouse, boyfriend or girl friend. 85% of these crimes were experienced by females and 15% by males. These expose only those crimes reported and not the ones which go unreported for a number of reasons including the threat of being beaten and assaulted again.
In 2003-2004 there was an average of 204,370 rapes, attempted rapes, or assault. These are only those reported.
Each year over 500,000 women are stalked. 5.3 million women are abused, and 1,232 women are killed by an intimate partner. These are only the reported facts. Many incidents of abuse goes unreported due to victim’s fear of retaliation, a weak family support system, or failed confidence in our current justice system.
The leading cause of injury to women is not over work, not food poisoning, not automobile accidents, not fire, not household mishaps, not on-the-job mishaps, but domestic violence. According to statistics a woman suffers a beating every 18 seconds.
The American Medical Association estimates that 1 in 4 women will be assaulted and abused by an intimate partner in her life time.
These reported figures, not to mention the random beatings and assaults that go fearfully unreported, represent, not the streets of Brazil where drugs rule the lifestyle. Not the huts of Haiti where voodoo is king over reading and writing. Not in the dark mountains of Africa where women are beaten as a rite of passage and mutilated as a religious practice. Not in the Congo where a bride can be purchased for the price of a cheap neck tie.
These atrocities are not unique only to El Salvador where MS 13 gangs rule, raping at will 13 year old girls as they are slowly disemboweled, their bloody body parts hand delivered by couriers to the parents. These figures represent the social and domestic environment prevailing right here in America where special interest judges run morality through the chutes for slaughter. Where crippled justice falls in the streets and victims must cut more red tape than the blood and guts that were cut from their bodies.
These figures represent the atrocities, assaults, and violent crimes occurring in the streets and homes of the United States. The land of baseball, hotdogs, apple pie, Bible beltways, annual revivals, Congressional hearings on related subjects, open liberalism and hypocritical ultra-conservatism.
This is the first time, reportedly, in the history of our nation that open liberalism and hypocritical conservatism has provoked many American would be voters to not know what party has anything to offer or who has the answers.
Don’t wait on Congress to rescue your marriage. Don’t wait on legislation that isn’t going to happen. When will we wake up and admit that last centuries promises are today lies?
Don’t wait on super sermons to save you from the scathing assaults of a man who hates and wants to control you and then hides behind the excuse that he wasn’t breast fed as a baby. Stop depending on special interest judges to protect your children. Know where your children are at all times and be prepared at all times to defend them against the evils and variable lifestyles that are dressed up to swallow up your home.
Don’t depend on your life coach or counselor, as important as they are, to change the things in your life, or people that have lied and deceived you, left you beaten, battered, and bloody. You are not a door mat. God doesn’t make trash. He made you male and female in His image. Equal yet distinctly different. Not more powerful or less deserving than the other.
Put your foot down. Re-call your life. Re-call the purpose that you once had. Re-call memories of a happy childhood and go back and rebuild that life. Set some rules. Make a mark. Set goals and go to work.
THE FORSAKEN WOMAN
As far as women in the work place and market place have come today times have changed even faster. Frankly, women dominate the market.
Still, to many males and too many males continue to embrace that it’s still a man’s world and not an equal society. And there are still places and locations in America, including right here in my neck of the woods of Echols County, Georgia, where the male mentality value of women is no greater than the cost of a cheap neck tie. God is not pleased with this primeval state of mind that many men have allowed to permeate their thinking and continue to perpetuate.
Many young men have failed and refused to break the curse of the fathers choosing instead to bear and propagate the sins of the fathers against the mothers and wives.
It's time to pile up the charcoal of our needs and sins, pour on the lighter fluid of prayer, and fire up the grill of zeal again.
Please call or email one person, ask them to join the originators of this site in prayer , with others, our leaders, and one another for a state of praye and a revival of compassion and action again. God bless and we love you. I feel like something good is about to happen.
