I moved near Tuscaloosa after military retirement, but lived in Foley before my Army career. Great place, Mobile! In the 60s I would spend time at Bienville Square. All of the big stores were downtown and the place was hoppin'. I would be on the coast if I could get my wife to leave her hometown...but that'll never happen.

Cherry, thank you for your kind words and encouragement. I'm so incredibly grateful to be connected with this site, and all of the wonderfully passionate, compassionate people I've come across in the past few weeks. God is working....of that I am very confident.

800 DV cases reported (and many more unreported) per month in Birmingham. That was an eye opener for me. I have an appointment to become a spokesperson against domestic violence next week. It is the right thing to do. Fear and denial kept me from doing the right things. I felt so alone at times. But I know, everything for a reason and there is a right time for everything. My time is now.
